About Wendy

I love helping people express their ideas by writing strategic copy that gets results. Companies and agencies hire me for content marketing, copywriting, thought leadership, and ghostwriting.

My clients come from a variety of industries and have unique problems that need solving. They often ask me to translate complicated or fuzzy concepts into clear and inspiring content. My areas of expertise include tech and business, healthcare, food and drink, lifestyle, and law and government. Read more about my experience and view clips.

Over the course of my wide-ranging journalism career, I’ve covered Congress as a staff writer at CQ Roll Call and edited books for Food & Wine magazine. My writing has appeared in publications like Fast Company, USA Today, The Atlantic, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Zagat, and Time Out New York.

Editors and clients know that they can count on me to turn in clean, accurate copy—no matter how tight the deadline. My meticulous attention to detail landed me jobs as a copy editor for national magazines.

In addition to writing, I have special expertise in food and restaurants. I earned my culinary degree in New York and had a brief but thrilling cooking stint at Eleven Madison Park. After living and studying in several U.S. and international cities, I’m now based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

My professional memberships include the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA) and Les Dames D’Escoffier. When I’m not writing or planning my next meal, I teach kids cooking and nutrition.

Wendy Ramunno has been one of my favorite writers to work with. While at Google/Zagat, Wendy was a market editor and always came with creative story ideas for her market and ones that were unique to our outlet. She was well sourced and had her pulse on food news and trends in Philly. Her copy was engaging, clean and thoughtful, and she always met deadlines. She brought a level of professionalism to the role that not many other writers did and it was always so appreciated. I couldn't recommend her highly enough.

In my role as assigning editor, Wendy Ramunno is always on my A list of freelance writers. She’s a versatile pro who is well versed in a variety of subject areas. She can write fun lifestyle content as well as more science-based health pieces. She knows how to translate complex information into engaging, reader-friendly articles without dumbing it down. She always follows instructions and meets deadlines (qualities that should be universal but are definitely not). Plus, she’s also just plain lovely to work with.
